Welcome contributors and visitors of the DC Super Hero Girls Wikia! The staff would all like you to enjoy your time here, and to help achieve this goal and make sure that this wiki and its audience may stay safe, a list of rules have been put into place. This will also keep the management from becoming too time straining. All users, including you, are expected to follow them at all times. If you disobey them, you will be held responsible for your actions, and could be punished in many different ways. If you broke any of these rules, you may be temporarily blocked depending on the severity, but if criminal activity continues, harsher tactics may be put into play.

Blocking people is the last thing we want to do here, so we wish that you would take these rules into consideration, as they are here to make sure that this wiki is a nice place for everyone.

Overview

  • All contributors on the site are expected to keep a clear knowledge of the rules.
  • Any admin or staff member has a right to stand up for the site and keep unnecessary edits in check at all times. They are allowed to issue a suitable ban to the user or visitor who's committed the bad edit.
  • Any sort of edits that are made for the wiki should be for its benefit and not for badgehunting. This act is forbidden within this wiki and will result in punishment.
  • Vandalism is strictly prohibited.
  • All information added must be canon with the franchise's timeline. Fanon material can be added to your own userpage.
  • When you create an account on this site, you are given the responsibility over it. This therefore means that even if you blame another for using your account for rulebreaking, action will still be taken against said account.
  • Don't take any problems from this wiki to other wikis as well, or vice-versa.
  • Don't try to recruit anyone for your own wiki through our site. If you need help with your wiki, go to the Community Central.

General rules of the wiki

  • This wiki's guidelines are applied to Discussions as well.
  • No profanity is allowed on this wiki. Users of all ages are welcome to view this wiki's content and should not be subject to cussing. Words like "crud", "darn", "damn", or "goddamn" are acceptable.
  • This is an English-speaking wiki. As such, foreign languages are only acceptable in Message Walls or when they directly relate to the series.
  • Sock-puppetry, or the act of creating multiple accounts to evade a block, is strictly prohibited. A sock account should immediately be brought to an administrator or bureaucrat so they can block it indefinitely.
  • All users must take great care of their account security. If anyone other than yourself ,such as your friend or your sibling, accesses your account and breaks any of the wiki's rules, you would be held responsible for their actions in this case.
  • Don't take manners into your own hands. Please report to a content moderator, administrator, or bureaucrat to take care of rule breaks.
  • Do not request, mention, or link pirated DC Super Hero Girls content.
  • If a staff member warns you about something, do not close or remove the warning thread. Continuing to disobey the staff's orders will result in a temporary block.
  • If you have any questions, feel free to ask any of this wiki's staff.

User Policy

  • Do not harass or cyberbully other users.
  • Respect others' views and opinions. Contradicting opinions should be discussed in a friendly manner.
  • Refrain from discussing sensitive and controversial topics, such as politics, and religion.
  • Do not discriminate other users. This includes their race, religion, or sexuality.
  • Do not spread drama among other users off-wiki. Otherwise, an immediate block could take place for a long period of time depending on the severity.
  • Names of characters in your username (eg. Batgirl, Supergirl, Wonder Woman, etc.) are permitted, provided that you do not act as such character. This is considered roleplaying and is strictly prohibited.

User Page Policy

  • Edits on your user page should constitute at most 25% of your total contributions on this wiki. If you edit purely for that reason, your user page may be protected until you contribute a lot to the wiki.
  • Do not edit another user's profile page unless for the following reasons:
    • You are reverting vandalism;
    • You are fixing something that is broken in their user profile page; and
    • You have sought the approval of the other party to edit his/her user profile.
  • You are not allowed to insult other users on your profile. When an administrator notices this in a user profile, he/she will inform you to remove it. Refusing to do so will lead to removal of the content without further input.
  • If a user profile page violates any of the wiki rules, please notify an admin to fix it.
  • For your safety, do not add any personal information about yourself (e.g., your real name, where you live).

Message walls

  • Do not discuss another wiki's matters to and from this wiki. This includes unjustly blocks from another wiki (this should be done on Community Central), or advertising another wiki here.
  • Respect others' space. If you see 2 users having a conversation, don't join in just to say "hi". If you do want to join in, keep it relevant to the topic.
  • If you message a user just to insult them, you will immediately be blocked.
  • Don't spam message walls. If possible, use one message thread for a couple days.
  • Don't message someone to bother them. If they didn't respond to your first message, don't send them a new message in hopes they will respond sooner.
  • Do not "necropost". Leaving a reply that hasn't had activity in over a month is considered as necroposting.

Badge Hunting

Badges are meant to show how much a user has truly contributed to a wiki. However, if someone contributes here purely to obtain badges, it is considered "badge hunting" or "badge farming". Someone who does this will be warned for their actions, and if it continues, they will be blocked for a certain amount of time.
Some examples of "badge hunting" may include:

  • Making multiple small edits to a page in a short amount of time for editing badges, the "Caffeinated" badge (Cheetah Eyes, for our wiki), or the "Lucky Edit" badge.
  • Adding unnecessary categories to pages for category badges.
    • This includes intentionally misusing templates which include categories, for example {{Delete}}, {{Incomplete}}, and {{Stub}}.
  • Making insignificant edits to your user page every day for wiki love badges.
  • Creating an article and immediately for the "Pounce!" badge.
  • Blanking a gallery for no reason and immediately reverting the blanking for picture badges.

Editing Policy

  • Do not vandalize a page. Removing quality content on or unnecessarily renaming a page may result in an instant block if serious enough.
  • If you want to create a new category or template, ask a content moderator or admin before doing so.
  • Do not add theories, speculations, non-canon material, and false information in the article pages.
  • When adding information like when an episode airs, or adding a new page for a recently announced episode, make sure the information comes from a reliable source, and add it to the page.
  • Try to provide an edit summary of what change(s) you have made whenever possible.
  • If you are making a new page, make sure that there is some content in it. A page shouldn't be made just to remain blank until a certain time. You should also search to see if the page has already been made before making it.
  • If you think an edit made is incorrect, try talking to the user about it on their wall to avoid an edit war. Repeatedly undoing each others edits would cause consequences for both users. If a third party is needed to settle a dispute, contact an admin to resolve the issue.
  • Use the preview button if you don't know how an edit would look like, so to prevent mistakes before they happen.
  • Do not plagiarize from another wiki or any other site. All information should be as original as possible. If you find something that comes from another site that you'd like to add here, try to put it in your own words.
  • Review the Manual of Style to write articles effectively.
