This article is about Lightning (G1). For the generation two version, see Lightning (G2).

Lightning, real name Jennifer Pierce, is a character in the first generation of the DC Super Hero Girls franchise. She is the sister of Thunder and a student at Super Hero High School.

Appearance[]

Lightning is a girl with dark skin and hair. She has a gold headband around her hair in an afro, and wears a white, dark blue, and gold supersuit. She wears black, white, and gold sneakers with white, black, and gold socks.

Cartoon[]

Season one[]

In Welcome To Super Hero High, Lightning appears outside the school standing with Jinx and Elasti-Girl in a promotional video for the school.[1] In All About Super Hero High, she appears in the aforementioned promotional video as it is being played on Wonder Woman's phone.[2]

In Designing Disaster, she makes a background appearance in the crowd of students behind Principal Waller as she informs Wonder Woman that the Save the Day alarm was only a drill.[3] In Clubbing, Lightning makes a background appearance standing with Cyborg by the SHHS club fair.[4] In Saving the Day, she sits next to Thunder during the Intro to Super Suits grading.[5]

Season three[]

In Spring Prison Break, Lightning makes a cameo appearance in the audience listening to Frost's Spring Break essay. In Seeing Red, she argues with her sister in the school hallway over a hair band, saying it looks better on her, despite Thunder saying it is hers, due to the activities of a red, anger-inducing Kryptomite running loose at the school. Their argument escalates into a fight. After Starfire defeats it, she and Thunder are seen apologizing to each other. In Body Electric, she and Thunder help Cyborg defeat Giganta. After the fight causes a blackout in Metropolis, she and Thunder lead citizens to take shelter at Capes & Cowls Café before Batgirl takes her to fix the blackout, leaving Thunder. She is initially unsuccessful, but with Thunder's help and encouragement, they succeed in restoring the power. She and her sister are later awarded medals at the school for resolving the blackout.

Season four[]

In Fish Out of Water Part 1, Lightning appears in a long line of students impatiently waiting to use the water fountain at the school as Mera uses it for a long time.

Season five[]

In the first part of Fortress of Solidarity, Lightning attends the SHHS Winter Holiday tree ceremony, in which she skates around the tree in the foyer with Thunder and they later receive tamales from Jessica Cruz.

Graphic Novels[]

Finals Crisis[]

In Finals Crisis, Lightning appears with Thunder receiving a flyer from Harley Quinn for her Semester Finals party. They subsequently appear attending the party together in Harley's dorm room, where Harley briefly shoves between them while searching for her missing friends.

Summer Olympus[]

In Summer Olympus, a comment made by Lightning appears on Harley Quinn's phone, agreeing with Thunder that Starfire greatly resembles her sister Blackfire in a throwback picture posted by Starfire of her and her sister. Later, Lightning and her sister rush to Super Hero High School while telling Starfire that there are villains heading to the school. Joined by other students, Lightning attacks Janus while the other students also help battle Ares and Strife's army of brainwashed Olympian Gods. After defeating them, Lightning and the other students battle Ares and Strife themselves in downtown Metropolis. They fall under Strife's spell, and succumb to infighting, with Lightning battling Thunder, accusing her of "always copying" her. After Wonder Woman breaks the spell, they presumably stop fighting.
