Season two[]

In the special Super Hero High, Vice Principal Grodd appears in front of the school with the other staff and students as they welcome new student Supergirl. After Supergirl crashes into the school upon arriving, Grodd takes over from Waller to lead the students during damage control protocol and repair the school. The next day, Supergirl bumps into him while walking in the hallway with Harley Quinn and sternly tells her to watch where she is going. Harley tells her of a rumor that he used to be a supervillain and that Waller got him released from prison through a "work-release program". At lunch, the Junior Detectives Society suspect Grodd of being the entity who has been recurrently trying to break into the boom tubes after coming across bamboo, which he is eating, found by the boom tubes the day prior. Hawkgirl later researches that Grodd was once imprisoned for leading a gorilla army to take over Central City. The Junior Detectives Society tell Waller of their suspicions that he wants to break into the boom tubes to bring back his gorilla army to Metropolis. Waller revokes Grodd's security clearance while reviewing the case, much to his frustration and therefore quits. It is revealed that the school librarian Granny Goodness framed Grodd to take over the school with the Female Furies using mind control as they cannot mind control gorillas. As he packs up, he notices Batgirl climbing through a window and jumps in front of Artemiz's arrow aimed at Batgirl as she tries to stop the mind control. He is his and the shoulder and falls to the ground. After Granny and the Furies are defeated, he throws them through a boom tube to Belle Reve Penitentiary with Granny's pet Perry, with his arm in a sling. Batgirl thanks him for rescuing her, and the Junior Detective Society apologizes to him for wrongly accusing him. He jokingly gives them detention for the rest of the year. Later, he appears at the ceremony celebrating the school's victory, still with the sling.[3]

Season three[]

In Seeing Red, Starfire sees Vice Principal Grodd argue with Principal Waller in her office over a vacation day, destroying her desk and claiming to have asked for one three months ago. Waller denies him and flips him into the wall, saying maybe she would have understood if he enunciated. After Starfire defeats a red, anger-inducing Kryptomite sowing discord around the school, Grodd and Waller make up in the school hallway, and Waller allows Grodd Friday off and also Monday.

In Body Electric, he appears on the stage during Thunder and Lightning's medal ceremony for restoring power to Metropolis during a blackout. In Fresh Ares Part 3, he gives six months detention to Catwoman for stealing Ares' Amulet of Harmonia, causing him to go on a rampage in Metropolis.

In Gorilla Warfare, he loudly roars in a demonstration of "primate power" during a phys ed class, after which he is kidnapped by former members of his gorilla army, who plan to rescue him from captivity and restore his rightful place as ruler of Gorilla City. After he tells them that he does not engage in villainy anymore, they believe him to be brainwashed and engage the students trying to rescue him. He eventually yells again and convinces them that he is not brainwashed and that he has not returned to Gorilla City as he thought it would be weird and that they would want to take over Metropolis again. The gorilla leader tells him that they do not have to do so and that they can just hang out, as they miss him. He agrees to return for the next bamboo festival, and jokingly gives detention to the students for staring at them before sharing a laugh with the lead gorilla.

In It's a Superful Life, Supergirl and Wonder Woman bring Grodd's parents to his office as they knew he could not come home for the holidays, so they brought his family to him. He hugs them and later attends the Winter Holiday Tree Ceremony in the school foyer, wearing a Santa Claus hat.

Season four[]

In Pets Peeved Part 1, Vice Principal Grodd tries to teach a class for the pets of the students in the school gym, but gets frustrated when they do not listen to his instructions and fail to work together as a team, getting hit in the face twice by Jumpa and having his slipper partially eaten by Honey. He threatens their owners with failure if the pets do not work together before storming off.

In Ha-Ha Horticulture, he falls asleep along with most of the rest of the school in the school hallway, holding El Diablo and sucking his thumb, due to Ivy's sleeping poppy experiment. He wakes up, and looks at El Diablo when Ivy and Harley distribute pollen across the school to undo the effects of the poppy. In Truth of the Lasso Part 4, he growls when Principal Waller decides to let Cheetah stay at Super Hero High despite stealing Wonder Woman's lasso, kidnapping her, and provoking Giganta (G1), due to Wonder Woman's forgiveness and recommendation. Waller reassures him that she will not let her out of her sight, now aware of her villainous leanings.

In Fly By Night, he pursues Wonder Woman, Hawkgirl and Bumblebee in the school hallways after they break curfew to retrieve a project in the school cafeteria. As he pursues them into the library, he threatens detention before they sneak out. They eventually evade him by tricking him into believing they are in the elevator, leading him to climbs up the floors. In the cafeteria, the students encounter Principal Waller, who promises that just this once, to not tell Grodd that they broke curfew, reminding them about how strict he is about curfew and about people eating his bananas .

Season five[]

In Spell-shocked Part 1, Vice Principal Grodd introduces Darkseid, the new math teacher to Wonder Woman and Batgirl. He then reprimands Harley Quinn as she prances through the halls smashing her giant mallet. In Spell-shocked Part 2, he asks Supergirl, Wonder Woman, Raven and Batgirl why the Book of Legends is wreaking havoc in the school. After the Book is defeated, he thanks Raven for stopping it and gives cleaning supplies to Wonder Woman and Batgirl to clean up the mess left by the Book before walking away.

In Bottle Episode, Wonder Woman tells Supergirl that Grodd has a place to store the bottle City of Kandor. He later appears locking it in a vault, much to Harley's disappointment. In Career Day, Wonder Woman overhears him talking on the phone to grab a top secret "prototype bow-thingy" after lunch. Later, she overhears him again stuck to the floor due to a green slime in the Weaponomics room as Artemiz steals the bow. He throws a trash can at her, but she destroys it with an exploding arrow. After Wonder Woman captures her before she can escape, Grodd, now freed from the slime, congratulates her and receives the Lasso of Truth subduing Artemiz. In Mood Ring, he and Principal Waller are hit by the violet love element of Star Sapphire's power ring. They then fall in love and dance together, disgusting Star Sapphire. After Star Sapphire pairs them with Supergirl, affected by the red rage element, they are returned to normal, and Grodd awkwardly tells Waller, "This never happened". In Haunted Harley, he gives Harley Quinn detention after catching Calliope pulling the Save the Day Alarm. Later, Harley goes to Grodd's office to tell him that the detention room is haunted and promises that she will "never do anything bad again". At the room, he remarks that Harley stole Poison Ivy's sage as she uses it to ward off the evil spirits, disappointed as he expected her to be on her best behavior.

In the first part of All Pets Are Off, he appears as one of the judges for the Super Hero High pet show. In the second part, fellow judge Coach Wildcat says that they have decided to split the Grand Prize for showing "teamwork, courage and creativity" after saving themselves from Artemiz. In The Wobble, he appears as one of the judges for an artistic gymnastics practice in the school Gym. Bleez later enters the gym and attacks the judges over giving her a bad score during a previous meet with Koruugar. As he tells her she is not welcome here, she pins him and the other judges to the wall. After she is defeated, she admits that she is not so much angry at the judges than herself for making a mistake. In Rolling Blunder, he appears as the referee for the Super Hero High Savage Supers Roller Derby match against the Female Furies, blowing the starting whistle and later the round-ending whistle near Belle Reve Penitentiary after the match breaks out of the gym and the Furies get stopped from breaking into the prison.

In the second part of For the Girl Who Has Everything, Grodd appears in Supergirl’s dream telling her that she is not late for class and return her diorama project with an “A” grade and does not recall previosly giving it a “C”. After she battles Kryptomites, Grodd tells her that she has been immune to Kryptonite for years and is now the most powerful hero on the planet. The school has since been renamed after her and that there is no longer any need for any other heroes, including her friends. Turning into a giant, he grabs her as she tries to fly away and transforms into a plant monster and attacks her as she realizes he is not Grodd. Supergirl eventually wakes up, her nightmare being caused by the Kryptonian plant monster left in her room, which is defeated by her friends.

In Missing Martian, he makes an announcement on the PA system in the halls that it is Miss Martian’s birthday and loudly tells to “wish her a happy one. All day long!”, causing the PA speaker explode. Harley admits to telling “one gorilla” that it is her birthday, despite previously telling her she "didn't tell a single person".

In Super Gift Swap, he unenthusiastically welcomes the students to Super Hero High School’s annual Gift Exchange, before leaving them to their “odd, primitive humanoid rituals”. In the second part of My So-Called Anti-Life, he reprimand the remaining students as they run by him to escape Darkseid’s Anti-Life Equation for running in the hallways, blowing the papers out of his hand, before he is hit by the equation and turned into a clone of Darkseid. In the third part, he and the rest of the school are turned back when the remaining students undo the equation.

Graphic Novels[]

Finals Crisis[]

In Finals Crisis, Vice Principal Grodd loudly orders the students to be quiet and listen to Principal Waller during the assembly on Semester Finals tomorrow. After the assembly ends, he again loudly orders the students back to class. Later that afternoon, he supervises detention and asks Poison Ivy why she got it. When she replies that it was for having one of her plants go out of control, he chastises her for grinning during detention and reminds her to control her plants or she will get more detention. He subsequently chastises her again for grinning in detention a second time when she converses with the Cheetah. When Bumblebee, Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Supergirl, Harley Quinn, Katana and Poison Ivy get three weeks of detention the next day after Finals for breaking rules, he chastises all of them for grumbling in detention.

Hits and Myths[]

In Hits and Myths, after discovering that hairs found at the scene of Batgirl's missing batplane originated from a synthetic wig, the Flash runs through the halls of the school and attempts to pull off the fur on Vice Principal Grodd's head, believing him to be wearing a toupée, having had a hunch about it for a while and believing the synthetic hairs are proof. Grodd throws him off and angrily denies wearing a wig.

Summer Olympus[]

In Summer Olympus, Grodd appears eating at a table at Centennial Park with Principal Waller while discussing preparations for the upcoming school year. As Grodd says he is always pleased to work with her, Strife causes an argument between them using her powers to strengthen Ares. He suddenly accuses her of not being strict enough with the student and demands to become the new Principal of the school. Waller dismisses him saying he would be nowhere without her. They presumably stop fighting when Ares and Strife are defeated.

Past Times at Super Hero High[]

In Past Times at Super Hero High, Grodd appears in an altered present scolding Wonder Woman, Supergirl and Beast Boy after they return from their field trip in time for laughing as it against the rules. Bumblebee then takes them and promises to ensure that they will not be tardy again in her role as Ambassador to new students. Later, after Batgirl and Harley return to the altered present from the future to recover the missing pterodactyl egg, Grodd appears with other evil Savage High faculty commanded by Vandal Savage to get them. He battles Batgirl who throws batarangs at him, and the ruckus of the battle alerts their other friends, who also join in. Poison Ivy ensnares Grodd with vines as revenge for putting her in detention several times. The students eventually escape in the time machine to restore the present. After Batgirl and Harley save a young Amanda Waller in the late 1980s from Solomon Grundy, Harley recalls the time she glitter bombed the faculty lounge and mentions that Grodd is still picking glitter out of his fur. With the present timeline restored, the evil Grodd from the altered timeline presumably merges with the reformed Grodd from the restored timeline.

Spaced Out[]

In Spaced Out, Vice Principal Grodd appears reading a newspaper outside the school as Hawkgirl, Bumblebee and the Flash run toward him for help while carrying Krypto and a family of orphaned dogs and being chased by a dogcatcher. Grodd scolds the dogcatcher for trespassing on private property and scares him away, remarking he never liked "animal control twerps". Later, he resumes reading his newspaper on a bench as the Flash runs up to him and tasks him to take care of the orphaned dogs while he accompanies his friends on an outer space mission. Grodd quickly grows fond of the dogs and later adopts one, naming it Bamboo. Later, he tasks the Flash and his friends to take Bamboo on their doggie playdate or they will get detention.
